Actually Dragkiris it quite possibly is....... Answer me this. Would there be people out there 24/7 attended scripting resources gold or whatnot if there was NO ONE who bought that stuff for RL cash?? The people scripting that stuff can quite easily be effecting a normal player. The guy whos buying that stuff for RL cash though is the root of the problem...

Anyway.... Your not even allowed to SAY a url in game without fear of banning so his question was totally legit. Matter of fact from your annoying and clueless response I kinda want to ask you which broker is your buddy..... :)

The really interesting thing about that particular character is he is wearing no armor, is unguilded, and he has no skill at or above GM. You have to wonder how he ended up with 4 times as many faction kill points as anyone else on that Shard.

Hmmm...so what is the benefit of having high Faction Kill Points? Anyone? Anyone?
:gee:

The benefit is that he is listed on top at faction ranking, and he can so make his/her site popular.

Ultima Online Naming Policy

You are encouraged to choose a name that represents your character in the way you want to be seen (for instance, a character named "Big Bird" may not be taken as seriously by others as a character with a more contextually appropriate name such as "Lothar"). However, we also ask that good discretion be used when choosing names for characters, guilds, titles, houses, pets, or any other item or entity in game which can be custom-named. Examples of inappropriate names include, but are not limited to:

1. Any name that violates the Rules of Conduct or Terms of Service. This includes names that are racially motivated, sexually graphic, anatomical and excretory references, hateful, defamatory, ethnically derogatory, in reference to hate groups, or any other names that would be offensive in nature including homonyms. Simply, if your name defames any demographic or is in poor taste you are likely to be actioned.

2. Any name that violates any third party trademark, copyright or other propriety right.

3. Names of any Electronic Arts employee or any customer service representative of Electronic Arts, past or present.

4. Any name that is defamatory or attempts to defame the reputation of another account holder, an employee of Electronics Arts, property of Electronic Arts or Electronic Arts itself. The use of derogatory, defamatory or offensive content in conjunction with names of famous or important historical, political or religious figures.

5. Names of modern era serial killers or anyone, or group who have committed crimes against humanity in the past 100 years, or any name that is closely connected with these acts.

6. Names of items, or proper names of NPCs in Ultima Online, as well as Ultima fiction names (e.g. Lord British, Lord Mondain, Exodus).

7. Any name involving a combination of words that produces an offensive result. Masked profanity or slang which denotes offensive terms.

8. Names which are website URL’s or the personal information of you or another.

9. Misspellings, phonetic spellings, word combinations, or alternative spellings of any names that violate the above rules.

Nope Not legal....... See him page on it...

The answer is easy. It is the new feature the lets thieves get up to 80 kill points for doing absolutely nothing. It is completely ridiculous that you get 10 points just from moving a sigil from town to base to town.

Yeah, I see how him having that name has substantially hurt your gameplay.
it's a site that steals your game account info, and it's substantially hurt quite a bit more than you would realize by your first glance.

Not doubting what you two are saying, but... do you have -verifiable- proof of this?

I'm only asking you because verifiable proof would be good for the community as a whole. Thanks.

I have no verifiable proof. I bought gold from him. 2 days later he added me to ICQ and 2 hours after that my account was cleaned out and I lost millions. I have no proof it was him but in my heart I know it was. I realize that's no reason to accuse anyone and that's not my goal here. I just felt the need to agree with Radun. I've spoken to other players that have voiced the same warnings about him. Again, I have NO proof, and I'm not accusing anyone. But if I see someone voicing a warning about him I'm going to step up and agree with them.

And please skip the flame wars regarding players like myself who buy our gold. Yadda Yadda I'm a bad person and deserve what I got. I get it, that's your opinion and you're entitled.

having URLs inside the game is illegal. It's not 'prove that the site is fraudulent, then that site's url is illegal', ALL sites urls are illegal because there are fraudulent ones... this just happens to be one of the fraudulent ones.

I don't have any proof that you can verify, but I do know more than one who have been swindled by that site, and that's all the verification I need.

who says hes scripting

Ask the people who has posted here about seeing his bots placing books in Luna... :p

Having a char named that might actually give the devs a chance to closer watch that account and other ones possibly tied to that CC and see if something fishy is going on.

Then again, it could also just be a random person who named his char that to mess around a little. Who knows...

Ever heard of a keylogger?

How much ya wanna bet, you go to that site, and you get keylogged?

And, ya, it is a bot, not a actual player, so he is scripting.. He's doing dozens of illegal thing here..

Illegal things

1. Whatever he did to get that much faction kills was illegal
2. His name is illegal
3. The website is illegal
4. Scripting is illegal

I am sure the list goes on...

That's how he got me - I'd bet money on it. I always copy & paste my password into UO now as a precaution. I never type it anymore. Stay away from that site people, it's bad news. Probably a good idea to stay away from all sites advertised by book-bots.

Okies...this is one of those iffy threads :)

It was pointed out the name is questionable, and the best way to handle that is to report it in-game or by email.

I understand some of you have had not so good experiences with a *few* sites, and some have suspicions of others. Some people out there are just thieves.....

Please remember though that as much as we'd like to, we can't post accusatory stuffs like this. :)
