Slime Event: Colors = Huge Disappointment

I mean c'mon...first off, the Japanese shards get the Tokuno I colors for their slime event, and we get 5 "new" colors: Tan, Ranger Green, Champagne Pink, Dark Blue, and Olive. Hardly something to talk about, yet alone want to dye with. There was an old post on the stratics boards regarding metal dye tubs and the colors, this was pre-Tokuno I event and there was so much potential in releasing some cool colors such as Helm of Insight Blue, Jackal's Collar Orange, Paragon Gold (finally someone listened on this one), Blood Red (still wishes), and countless others.

Please give us a better color selection...you have til the 26th!!!

Pretty sure the Japanese event didn't get tok 1 colours, they got some old colours? Aos? Somethign like that? Dunno, before my time.

And I'm liking the colours =) The blue could be a little more blue (it's a little close to black on some items), and the red a little darker, but that's my own personal taste.

Don't expect everyone else to agree with my tastes =)

I like the colors, but the AoS colors are/were VERY intereting shades (multi-colors) and added that we cant dye bolts of cloth ... well, it is very disheartening. The color selection definitely left something to be desired. They could have come out with a few more "new" colors to help offset not being able to dye cloth ...

I really like the colors, but I really like muted shades. I would have no use for inquis resolution blue or crown of the harry green, but then again I'm dye-ing furniture and add-ons for the most part, not armor. Then again I don't care for crazy neon colors on my armor either. :p

Maybe they might turn to 'better' colours if they get near death?
You would need a bunch of mages and archers to test it though as they move about to much for a melee to be effective.

I really felt we got screw over for this event, wife and I did the quest, got the slime hunter titles, but after that did not go back to dye anything as we only wanted to dye cloth like they did on the Japanese shards but saw that only arties and enhance items could be dyed, so we never went back to the slimes.

Interesting idea! You can do it with melee, though. If you are in war mode and just keep d-clicking on its lifebar it'll stay close.

You can kill the acid slimes and they drop regular slime loot. No specialer color. And it tooks 20 minutes with a GD chewing on it. We get tok2 colors + the 5 mentioned period.

Your not alone in that feeling. I too thought we got the screwed... I would have liked to have some nice cloth dyed at least cloth can be held to use later... would have been neat to also have some nice bottles or something to fill to use later....

Honestly I dyed a few furniture items for later use and then I quit and I didn't bother with any silly title.... titles are a fleeting thing like fame and Karma and not much worth the bother in my opinion..... and slime hunter just really doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Design, deco, crafting and Role-play interest me.

Not for add-ons that can't normally be dyed except with tokuno dyes.

Dark Blue= Think Umbra Baby!
Deep Forest Green= Now my leather arty Armor can look Barbed! Sweet!
Champaine Red= Little too close to pink for me.....but looks good with the pink Dog i got!
Light Tan= Must have its uses!
Light Olive Green= Kinda sad that it is not spawning any more. :( I like that one for sheilds.

You could go get the deed for the slime title...and lock that down at your house...that was something i was planning on doing....

The event had one good color.

The event sucked it was boned( broken) from the start.

It was an half asred attempt to placate us for the long holiday.

I wasn't extremely enthusiastic about the colors either. Not to mention that the American based event only dyes armors and the likes. But on the other hand, we also got the "slime hunter" title with our event which compensates for other losses.

I still am sadly disappointed in the colors, I would prefer a more royal blue like the helm of insight... I did kinda like the ranger green, and champagne pink.... But the other olive green is nasty..... too close to ash anyway....

I'm not into neon stuff really either.... but I do like SOME color that is a bit further from gray...... I mean most that stuff is blah.... Most of it I can't wear anyway..... I have a uniform.... I just would have liked more choices as to what could be dyed ....... like down the road I might like something different...... how am I supposed to know now what I may desire then?

You are just not thinking about all the people that would quit if the colors were bright or neon. It has been stated numerous times that people quit UO over bright neon colors. Not because of stagnant development or out of date system but because they have sensitive retinas. You must consider this whenever implementing anything into the game. It must be drab, dull. Or shades of black or red. Bright yellow is right out!

The colors laid out by the slimes are all anyone should need. There is blah and bleh and *yawns* light tan and a bleach color. Along with a light red *yawn* and a olive *slumps*.......*snores*.....

People QUITTING over neons??? Are you kidding??? Sheesh. Why dont they just ruin it for everyone and demand UO be reduced to black and white and claim it is "retro!"

I love the neons colors! I love having a purple bedroom and wish I could make more purple furny for the rest of my house.

It seems a few complainers screwed up things for the rest of us.

I liked the dark blue slime color and that was about it.

I appreciate the devs giving us the event. With that said, I dyed a few items, but overall, the colors are not interesting to me. Furthermore, the slime AI is the most annoying I've ever encountered. I pray the devs don't use it for anything else ever again.

All I wanted from this quest when it was announced was to dye my Crimson Cinctures the 100% Nox AoS Green
