It might be nice to put this kind of information on the patch screen....

I agree that info on patch screen would be nice but i also would like if they can start doing server mantance like this for individual shards before or after the normal sever down time. for example the shard i play normal down time is 5am est so if they had to do maint on my shard that would take longer than normal down time they could start at 4am and end at 6am

Would desturb much less players

I stopped paying attention, isn't the patch screen still saying "Beware of suspicious items" even though a day later EA admitted the suspicious items could be picked up near britain and weren't suspicious at all?

The time EA selected shouldn't inconvenience all that many players in the Americas (just the real nightowls), but it's going to cause a two-hour downtime at mid-day for players in Europe and during prime-time for players in Asia and Australia. For their sake, I wish this kind of information showed up on the patch screen.

Does this mean literally all, that is, including Asian shards? Because 5:00 - 7:00 EST is 19:00 - 21:00 JST, which is golden time in Japan.

Maybe it is the bank thing. Just guessing.

*misses the FYI section of the UO site* I wish they would give us more info. on a regular basis, including patch/publish notes.

EA Japan official site has announced this. It is really all over the world at the same time, which occurs very rarely. Something extremely serious will be fixed.

Yes! They are finally demolishing LBR's castle and giving me a huge customizable lot there filled full of million gp checks! Thank you EA for finally realizing you're error and correcting it in a timely manner! I expect my things ready on all shards as scheduled...

Okay, the shards are down... I hope they are remodeling the banks.

Is this maintenance being done?

I'm assuming it is over now, since I can log back in. I guess it wasn't for bank remodeling. Oh well, that just means there is still something to look forward to. =)

Server up. Bank the same. Probably fixed yet another dupe. Wonder where they keep coming from.

Did this maintenance take the place of the US shard's normal maintenance? Pacific is, of course, up already from this downtime, but it's normal maintenance time is in about 30 minutes from now. I'd like to know if I need to plan on that downtime as well.

Just got my answer....

Server going down, find a safe place, yada, yada, yada.....

Weee...down for 2 hours, up for an hour, down for another 30 minutes......

*sigh*
