Keybind problems?

Having some issues with controls in UO KR. I dont have a 2d client I have only just returned after 10 years and only DL the KR version.

I havnt touched any of the default keys, the only one that seems to work is M for map.

C wont open paperdoll, I wont open backpack, etc....Nothing. None of them work.

Ive tried remapping them, and it still doesnt work.

Ive gone back to KR default and it doesnt work. Ive tried the legacy defaults and they dont work....

Help?

In slightly more detail, it appears that when I push the hotkey it appropriately closes the window in question, but wont open it lol....

Uninstall KR. Download the 2D client.

Is KR a borked piece of garbage or something?

KR is a fairly solid client, but it does have some bugs - just like 2D does. Try asking KR questions in the KR forum and you'll get good answers instead of snide comments. KR is scheduled to be replaced in few months with the "SA Client" so knowing KR should give you a good start on learning it.
