Does anyone else find this insanely large? Not only is the forge big at 4x4 but it seems to insist on a 1 tile path around it so you can't stick it in a corner. This makes it's placing footprint 6x6. I finally got mine up on the roof of my castle. Going to try to squeeze it in on the first floor today. Makes me feel sorry for folks with small houses or who have divided their houses into rooms.
Please, could we have a small version available for folks with limited floor space?
I crammed a soul forge into a vacant SE corner, placed it on goza and dropped one to break it. Took out all the pieces except the SE piece. Now I have a 1-tile functional soul forge.
I'm going to use the same technique in a NW corner of my other house. I was able to put both against a wall, so.. not sure why yours needs a 6x6 footprint.

It's probably already possible to make it smaller with goza mats. Anyone tried?
EDIT: Finks is faster ^^

Phantus messed around with this and figured out you only need 1 piece of the soul forge to work (one of the pieces of anvil, each anvil takes up two tiles and there are two of them). So you can use goza mats to break up the forge and get rid of the spare bits you don't want.

It is large....it is very large! I think it is nice that it is so different from the others. The Elven forges are petite like elves are supposed to be. The Soul Forge is large, Gargs are large, so I think in that case it is fitting (no pun intended). If they make it smaller I hope they dont shrink it by much.

I think it's perfect, i've lifted mine up on rubble blocks, this leaves room under it for two chests, perfect for storing junk for pulling apart and all my ingredients for imbuing.
If you want or need to use your house as a vendor place or something else thats fine. i decided a soulforge was worth the sacrifice of other items to place it.

Even the anvil's are HUGE! lol Who is the Jolly Green Giant who needs an anvil of those proportions?! So much for trying to make it fit in with existing smithy shops/deco.
There's a 2x1 tile soulforge in the blacksmith shop right next to the big soulforge that everyone uses. It looks like an anvil. I like it. There should be an option to build a SF of this size.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not already, but oyu can place it on the roof of your castle, and use it from the floor beneath it.

That sounds like a good feature having it on a roof and forge from below. It's like you're in it's "aura" and not actually banging on it.

Lay out goza maps in the footprint of a soul forge. Raise easy goza up 3 times. Place the soul forge on the goza mats like you would on the floor of your home. Low the pieces you wish to remove then use an axe on them. Lower the pieces you wish to keep to the floor. This will make the forge undeedable so be sure you are willing to replace it if you mess it up. There is also a goza walkthru of this nature in the castles and homes thread stickied somewhere.

Maybe it's just me, but they look out of place when placed indoors. I prefer the look of my rooftop setup.

thats what i did with mine. easily accessable floor space is too valuable.

I wish they'd at least get rid of that big ugly colored square underneath them when you place. :S

I agree they're a bit large, but I did manage to fit mine comfortably in my crafter house...
