Poplating The New Land

As you all know the new land has housing available on it if you're willing to get 10k favor points to place. As you also know, there are various areas within game where groups of friends and neighbors have made the decision to give their mini-town a name of their choosing.

A town of just this nature has been formed, originally entirely by happenstance.

Several members of the Legion of Sosaria Alliance, including myself, discovered today that we have all built our new homes in the new lands next to or very near one another. We began discussing the idea of lovely Keira to name our little community and have chosen and agreed upon Rivenmyst Village, and have been joined by others in the area who are not in the alliance. :party:

We would like to announce the new community here on the forums and encourage others with homes in this area to join us in adding the community name to your house sign as several of us have already done, and to welcome all, alliance or no, who have yet to place, we hope Rivenmyst will become a community of friendship, aid and peacefulness. :heart:

I'm looking forward to this new venture! With combined efforts our lovely village of Rivenmyst shall be the most successful player-driven establishment in LA history! I am in the deco process now..hehe :) Gotta get that gate open!

eat me I noticed it right after I posted and tried to edit but couldn't change posting name. Do you know how hard it is to type on a lap top while laying on your stomach on an ultra squishy bed?

I'm already enjoying living in Rivenmyst, it's the first time since 1999-2000 I've lived in an area surrounded by friends who were active in the area as well, of course there was DSR Village in Fel but almost no one ever really ran next door to visit their neighbor there either. I was in a guild on Pac where the GM bought all the houses in the area and gave them to members of the guild near Trinsic Swamps .... I didn't realize how much I missed things like watching someone I know trot by my door on their way to a hunt, inviting a neighbor over to trade decorating ideas or giving directions to someone looking for a house in my neighborhood.

Believe it or not this little action of placing a name on a community and getting to know the homeowners around me has brought back a tiny piece of "the old days" for me. It's something everyone should have a chance to enjoy.

We should have a town hall ... I may completely redo my house today to build one. What do ya'll think?

I think that is a great idea Muse! I have been thinking about what else our city needs. with Royal city nearby what else besides the usual (smithy, carp shoppe, etc). does the citizens of Rivenmyst want?

I too have been thinking about when I first started on the LS shard (early days of UO for me). Rivenmyst is the same for me too. Seeing people around and interacting like the olde days. Thanks for sharing! I feel the love! :heart:
