View Full Version : Variable locations on some of the SA stealables?

On UHall someone mentioned that some of the new SA stealables have variable locations. Is anyone else finding that and, if so, could we have a list of the items that spawn in different spots each time?

I Have Been Grabbing These New Stealables Since Beta And Have Found That They All Have There Own Location. What People May Be Talking About Are The Bottles Of Liquor There Are Several Versions Of These And Are In Different Locations, But All The Locations In The Stealable Sticky Is Where You Will Find Them.

are there any other locations like the long tunnel from abyss to that champ area?
look like wasted space without something to spawn there.

This is not good .. Guess scripters will get all stealbles from no spawn areas .
Didnt they learn anything from Doom.. jeeez :grrr:

I remember some guys in Doom I would run by would sit there and had their timers set and would be chatting along... then silence would start to descend as the time got closer... they would hit steal and click on the spawn location so fast you would barely see the object before it was gone... of course that was when spawn locations were static... Good thing I was only hunting...

Am I missing something about respawns? :) With the higher rarity stealables, isn't there a window of +/- 20% on the time, so that it would be impossible to sit on a very rare item for, in some cases, days - and then just pounce?

yah, I'm kinda new to all this, and that was my impression, also, La Belle... if there's a way to narrow down this time thing that would be a big help

course, that assumes that I'll ever see a thing to begin timing it.... big jump there!

They are talking of the old days before the +/- 20%. The spawn time would be pretty accurate to within a few hours on the larger things instead of a couple days.

As far as doom arties. The scripters don't get them all. I have been pretty successful getting the doom arties, without a script. The exception being the ruined painting. Never seen one of them (except in pictures). I do have the patience to log in and wait a few hours a day to see if I can catch a spawn. I don't have the patience to do that for a month(s).

That being said that is probably why I don't have a ruined painting, but have multiples of the other stealables. (Except the claw, only one of those)

Q

As a side note.....
Sometimes tracking helps either with JoAT or real skill to see if folks are hanging around. If they are, you can bet they think the spawn time might be near.

Was a big problem in doom with scripters . Why do you think they changed most of spawns from static to spawning in various locations ? I just find it hard to understand how they can repeat the same misstake in SA .. :(

I was one of those guys on the Great Lakes... with the help of an excel spreadsheet and the spawn time it was rather easy for us to get most of the items all of the time. Plus we could recall quicker to other spawn spots instead of running around checking all of the locations.

Important things to have is the time the object spawned and be on the spawn timer. From that you can get a real good estimate as to when it will spawn again.

Not a good idea to stand next to wolf spider and macro a tile. No matter how close you are to the time a web will come. I am reasonably sure that you want the web there first.
You can be seen as long as the macro is running if I remember correctly.

Every time I have grabbed the luck totem and the large bowl in cavern of discard they have been on different tiles in the general area.

Another Item, the priceless treasure spawns on different tile(area too small to make much difference).

The small dying plant also spawns on a different tile as well.

In the underworld they stay in the same place.
All the ones down in the abyss move each time they come.
Stand around and macro one all you like.
As far as I am concerned, there are too many in there to stand next to one.

I think all of the Abyss arties move around just a bit.

Ive found the abyss stealables move in the area. The underworld stay the same.
