I was just wondering if it's possible to log in with a new account.
I made one, but when I tried to log in, I got an "internal error" message.
I know there was a little bit of discussion about this, but the only reason I'm making this post is because I had someone come over to my skill house last night who said she was new.
I asked her if she had just created that account, or if it was an older one that she just decided to use... and she said that she had just made it.

Soo, yeah... just a little confused, lol.

That makes two of us.

There's been no definitive word on whether or not new account creation would be possible. The internal error may have been just a glitch, or it may have been an error resulting from not being able to connect to the database and create the new account.

For now, I'm just assuming new accounts cannot be created.

I really think you should call customer support, I will today after school and i'll see if we can really register accounts. When I try to register one though, it asks me for a registration code?

How exactly are you trying to register the account? Through the game client? If so, and it's asking for a registration code, then you are running a really outdated version of the game client. Try re-downloading and re-installing the game.

Otherwise, I'm at a loss here.

I got the same thing when trying to register.
Just wondering where you get a new download for the game, I was looking for it yesterday, but couldn't find it.

You can download it here (http://ea-land.ea.com/static/install/EA-Land.msi) (this link will initiate download of the game installer).

Hmm... so, I downloaded the game again, and I still can't use the new account.
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be using the client or the patch, but I tried both and I still get the "internal error."

Oh well, I guess... lol.
As long as I can use one account, I suppose that's all that matters.

Would have been nice to be able to run 2 accounts, though.

Okay, let me make sure we've got all the bases covered here...

You've downloaded and installed the game. You've started the game using one of the shortcuts that the install created on your desktop for you (it shortcuts to the patcher). When the choice comes up for which server (EA-Land or Test Center 3), are you selecting Test Center 3?

Take a look through this guide (http://sims.stratics.com/php-bin/show_content.php?content=26792) or this guide (http://sims.stratics.com/php-bin/show_content.php?content=26191). Hopefully one of these two will have the information you need to figure out where the problem might be.

Another question: Since you are able to access one account, we know that your installation is fine. Have you tried accessing just your new account? At what point does the internal error happen?

Yes. I installed it, clicked the shortcut, but I play in EA-Land... so I select that one.
I tried logging in using the new account I made, but that's when I get the "internal error" message.... don't even get to the "selct-an-avatar" page, or whatever it's called now, lol.
Can't login with that new one at all.
I tried clicking on the "new user" button, and it takes me to the EA Account Management page, then I login with that account on there, and it says I need to enter the registration code from my game case... which, obviously I don't have.

I'm just kind of annoyed, bc I see people who have just created new accounts, and are able to login and play.
I wanted to be able to run two, so I could help out a friend at her money house and be able to have someone at my house as well.
So... I dunno, lol.

I'm just really confused as to how people are creating new accounts, and are able to login with them.

I've seen a few 0-day old sims recently too, and they are completely clueless and seem new. rolleyes:

But I haven't interviewed them about it, if it's a completely new acct or what.
Might be that someone has given them an account and they're just making new sims on it?
(Former Free accounts are premium now so maybe they're just making their 8 sims.)

Should really try and make a fresh account just to check...

Yup. And I know that just because it says they're 1 or 2 days old, that doesn't mean it's a new account... so I've asked certain ppl about it, and they've told me that they just created the account... so yeah... I dunno, lol.
Didn't work when I tried it, so I don't know why it would work for anyone else, unless I'm doing something wrong.
OR unless they think when I say "account" I mean "sim"... which could be a possibility, considering the ppl I've asked are completely clueless about the game, lol.

That's quite possible. I've pretty much been advising people that new accounts can no longer be created, though I've remained open to the possibility that it could still be done. But this thread has pretty much convinced me that new account creation has been shut down or reverted back to the old system.

Blech. Between this, accounts still getting billed, and free accounts getting expired and shut down, it seems EAL's entire account management system is a complete wreck.
