How does POTCO gameplay compare to ToonTown? Is there PVP in POTCO?
Yes, there is PvP but not for ship battles yet. But that's coming soon.
Combat is very different as its real time instead of turn based. You also need to time your mouse clicks to perform combos. You also aren't limited on which attack skills to use. You can do them all.
However I think the way they award experience is similar to Toontown in thats it's based on the amount of hits you get on a creature. So a lot of people try to keep how much damage they do to a minimum so they can get move skill points per creature.
The quests are very similar. They make you run from place to place and have you kill x amount of a creature and get items from them.

I play both, maybe more than I should.
I find that PotCO is more intense for me. It requires more focus. Where cogs tend to move in straight lines, the enemies in PotCO will actually hunt you down. They are both great games. It just depends on what you're looking for.

I am assuming that the POTCB is the weird pirates game, am I correct in thinking so? If so, I would like to state that it is also made by disney and is likey very similar, since TT is so popular. It is most likely simply made for a different group of people than toontown.:bdh:

I have played POTCO, and it is an ok game. It is very laggy though and more people are usually on toontown than pirates. It is a good game depending on what your looking for.

 For me, the picture is dark and the sequence of events is hard to define. Its more like an RPG type of game like Zelda, but in real time like stated above. My daughter loves it, but I have a hard time with it. Plus, you have to have a computer that can handle the graphics and a cable connection. I want to play, but I just watch my daughter play and for now I enjoy that. She is the bomb on those types of games. She tired of toontown after just a few weeks, but will play paper mario and zelda over and over. she is 20 and takes after her mom, the gamer, always have been, I just stink at most games.

I agree with Sandi that Pirates seems way darker, and is much more PRG than Toontown. Having to slash at people with a sword seems less fun to me than dropping a piano on a robots head.
If the game is too dark do the following:
Go to Options
Select the Image tab
Check "Enable Hardware Gamma"
Move the slider bar to the desired brightness.
Yeah this is much more graphics and connection intensive than Toontown.
