**PVP THREAD** Keep all pvp talk in this thread!!

HERE IS THE DEAL FOLKS!!! I talked it over with Orvago and we decided this was the best way to work this all out so there were not so many locked threads on the forum.

However you need to read the rules stated below and follow them to a "T", or this thread will be removed as well.

We decided to use the Rules that Ovrkill used on his shard forum to make things a little easier since these rules work for them I see no reason why they wont work here.



OK, so we've been having a chat to some PvPers who were worried that PvP doesn't get a fair go on these boards. As a result, the moderators have agreed to allow this thread to be stickied so it can serve as the home for PvP talk on this board. Contrary to what many believe, we both understand that PvP is an important part of UO and we're willing to work with you guys as long as you are willing to work with us.

We will allow smack talk (moreso than normal threads that would likely have been locked on the forum), however, please do not get carried away with it.

Now, this thread is aimed to give the 'PvPers' who wish to discuss PvP topics and smack talk a place to do so.

DO NOT mention anything to do with hacking, third party software, accusations of people using them, exploits & scams. You will get a nice 24 hour ban from this forum if you want to try your luck. This is the only warning you will get.

Examples on the Difference between Personal Attacks and Game Smack Talk:

<u> Personal Attacks </u> : Personal insults to get them annoyed and provoking them to attack you, such as "Your a fat housey" <u>Game Smack Talk</u>: Smack talk is putting ones opinions out as to how bad they are and how they cannot pvp or duel; such as "Your shocking on a mage so you can only play overpowered templates." (Thanks to Petrify for the original penning of these two examples.)

<u>Please note</u>:

This is your place to talk about PvP. Any other threads started outside of this one will be Moderated as harshly as all other threads. Best thing is to keep all PvP talk in here. Understand the difference between this thread and normal threads. Just cause you can talk smack in here, doesn't mean you can go to normal threads and do the same to non-PvPers there.

<u>One last thing you should know about the forums here</u>:

If one post gets removed, ALL posts linked to that via replies will also get moved. This means you may come here to see your post removed when it was not offensive. This means you replied to a post that was removed and so yours went as well. Best bet? Reply to the original post (this one) so yours doesn't get accidentally removed as well.


And lastly: If you can't handle the smack talk, don't come into this thread .

Bring 10 of your best FL fighters to LA but not with transfer codes. Create chars, with whatever template you like, I'll help support your training requirements and skill gaining and we'll get Vamp to pick 10 of their best.

I'll host in a private fel pvp arena - everyone will start out naked as jay birds and will be given identical GM made armor, GM made weapons and reg bags/aids as needed (no pets, goes without saying if you're serious pvp'ers). The entire battle will be based on the skill of the gamer, their ability to create an effective UO template for pvp, the dexterity of their fingers in in bapping away those LEGAL macro's and when the smoke clears we'll see who gets the ultimate 1v1 bragging rights. After 10 rounds of 1v1 if there's not a clear winner (70% win ratio) we'll do elimination rounds and just for fun we can even have a free for all 10v10.

To eliminate the questions of "why on LA and not (____insert other shard here) ... because I play on LA and I have the resources here to host such an event ... enough said.

such a convenient side step of a flagrant challenge - apparently you're all talk and no show. Gender prejudice is against the RoC as much as all the swearing you do and you wonder why your threads keep getting locked. If you want a pvp thread that is going to stick you're going to need to learn to argue like a big boy instead of digging in the bottom of the barrel for the third grade insults.

And since you are such a "god" of felluca ... you may want to learn how to spell (and I'm assuming) pronounce it. It occured to me last night that LA has probably the highest concentration of veteran players than any other shard, it's amazing how many of LA's prominent members of society either Beta tested UO or came in shortly there after. And since we all know LA isn't a very old shard that means we've all moved here, independently, from other shards such as Pacific, Lake Superior and Great Lakes (I actually come from all three of those shards). The thing to wonder is why? What is the driving force that has brought so many long-time players of Ultima to one shard? *Points up at the ramblings of a self-proclaimed lush* Meh ... just a thought.

I think I've also figured out why so many pvp'ers have nothing better to do than flame and troll. Look back, UO has grown and changed so much in every way. Crafting has changed, hunting has changed, new monsters, new lands, new loot, new incentives, new systems and methods. Everything about UO has changed in the past 10 years, multiple times ...except pvp. It was "find someone and kill them" then and it's still "find someone and kill them" now...the only major change pvp has seen is the introduction of power scrolls and save your fingers from a flame away about how skill changes effect pvp so that one week archers pwn and the next week it's bushido stealthers because that's not what I'm talking about and if you can't figure it out for yourself, go kill something to make yourself feel better.

That said, maybe we should feel sorry for these guys. The desperately defend pvp and yet are admittedly bored with it. I've done my fair share of pvp and then some, I was born in fel before the days of tram when pvp was not optional and I turned red from killing hunting parties in Despise. I've been in pvp guilds and zerg guilds (yes I associate them differently) I've done champ spawns and raided harrowers. I've done house fights and boat fights and tournaments and even (with shame) spent some time at yew gate. I was in factions for three years on Great Lakes when they were really active and came to this shard and taught DSR (may they rest in peace) how the faction system worked. I've been an RP player and a hack n slash, been in the ventrilo's of some of the biggest pvp guilds in the game.

I don't pvp anymore because, quite frankly, it's boring. With item insurance and CBD's and PBD's there's just no point anymore ... hell we can't even cut your head off and sell it to the king when we're done pwning you. Pvp has become a true joke in this game because everything that used to make it fun has been taken away ... I've seen and done it all and I've come to the conclusion that performing the same action expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

On that note, if you decide to actually accept the challenge (and grow a pair) great, but if you truly plan to just hide behind a bottle of (lemme guess ...) jager? and type out heaps of uneducated, drunken mumbo jumbo ... we've all got better things to do with our time. Last offer.

Last I heard is FL doesn't tour anymore, because the last time they went touring they got so badly destroyed that guild morale was at an ultimate low. I mean it only took two and a half years for your craptastic army to think about going off shard again.

Now It's called Colonization meaning you don't buy 2 x-fers because you only need one, as its a permanent move to take over the shard . . . . yet for some reason all you've colonized is the weakest shards possible normally I would have picked BTH over FL but they made the mistake that you guys won't and they actually tried to beat us on our turf and like ALL the guilds before them failed miserably.

Like I said in a previous post, in a locked thread....
I could care less if you choose to come to Lake Austin, regardless of what you do Lake Austin will never be under Fallen Lord rule. This is now and til the end of UO VaMp territory, and it will take nothing short of the west coast uniteing against us to change that, even that without a miracle isn't gonna help.

Actually, we usually always have a Staffer post the PvP Smack threads so that they can add the needed *modified* set of laxed rules for that thread in the Original Post. Your's was a by product removal of that procedure and implementation of an Official Smack Thread. If you look around, and actually read Elektra's OP here, you'd see it was a copy of pre-existing PvP Smack Thread Guidelines. So, no one copied you. We copied ourselves.

I believe we've already stated quite a few reasons as to why you should come, but I guess the biggest reason Your guild can colonize all the other west coast servers if they want, we don't care whats happens outside of Lake Austin.... Conquering FIVE of SIX servers is not total domination, and that my friend means your 'legacy in the history of UO' will have been spoiled by the Daywalkers.

It has been a very long time since I posted on Stratics, and even longer since I played UO.

I decided to come on here as I was in training at work and somewhat bored.

The last time FL came to LA, Everyone either stopped playing, left the shard, or quit going to Fel.

The guild I was in was one of the only guilds that faught FL. I however was not involved in those battles as I was on Origin instead.

I can not imagine why any of you would want FL to come here again and take away the money you make from your gang infested battles. When I played, Vamp was nothing more than a bunch of trammies gang banging a champ spawn. DSR was trying drasically to get out of guard zone at Yew, and Avril McNasty couldn't stop using ****UO.

Anyhow, it's break time, and I don't want to waste my time on here.

In fear of falling too far behind BTH in regards to gathering resources we stayed on Origin and faught there.

The first 1-2 months of Origin it was just like fighting pre AOS. No one had anything special, the armour was the [censored], and no one had money for insurance. It was a blast.

Vamp was know for sitting in the star room withering. They had no skill on the battle field and didn't ever fight 1v1.

The guild EVIL was reconized by FL as one of the best battles they had on LA, and that was with more than 60% of our guild off the shard. Imagine what we would have done had we all been there.

When I was on LS, I was part of Legion os Shadows, Before AOS even came into existance. About 1 year after LA opened my friend Thom and I moved over. We started L-S and had a lot of fun with it. We made a lot of friends and a lot of enemies. More importantly, we made a lot of money.

I pvp'ed every day I played. Mostly 1v1 or 1v2 situations. I was in the top 10 for faction points long before factions were gay. Before you start and thrash someone you know nothing about, you need to sit back and think how long they might have played for. Unlike you, I played the Beta, and on LS shard. I owned 4 towers and two castles on LS. 1 Castle in Tram on the grass and one in Fel. I ended up selling my castle for 2500$ USD. To me, that was a great accomplishment. This was long before gold was 1.50/mill.

EVER lol as I and OptPrime were members of BTH in the opening months of Origin, we know this first hand.

It is very true they had numbers, and preferred a grinder to pvp, but you would get a few that actually knew how to PVP and would come out of the grinder. Our favorite spot to PVP was just outside of Ice dungeon.

There were no grinder points, and not the entire BTH guild would show up.

Evil was a close knit bunch of guys, we had about 10 guys and gals in it. For the life of me, I can not remember our guild name on Origin now, but I know we had a lot of fun.

As for XTC, there had some skilled guys in there. If I remember, our guys joined there when Evil stopped playing.

Vamp begged and begged Evil to align with them. This was before they had so many people in it, so propabbly before you joined.

I haven't played UO in almost 2 years, so I have no idea what current status of guilds are and so on. If Vamp is anything like they were when I played, they are nothing more than a 5v1 type of player. None of them could handle their own, and required the help of those around them to succeed. a Perfect example of that is you. You were in BTH, one of Great Lakes largest guild. The guild that controled Origin. And you came over to LA, and dropped the loosing guild to join an even bigger guild. That shows incredible loyalty, and skills on your part. Call me crazy, but I'd say you were the type of person that wouldn't leave the BTH grinder to pvp me on Origin. The GM must have been, Miss White, you suck, so just sit here in the entrance and wither. That way you'll get to loot anyone that comes in the front door. and might get the last kill on someone so you can make your 1400 bucks.

You do realize that when I left BTH I took 5 of their top 10 players with me? ? We weren't interested in fighting in grinders all day long so we went ' home ' to Lake Austin where we joined up with XTC until Ki'Marhi Scrible had to quit the game which is when we joined VaMp. We were already in VaMp before BTH arrived on the shard. We were the reason BTH came to Lake Austin. Pubamoto was furious 5 of his best guildies at the time left him, he wanted to show us our mistake in leaving by taking over LA. Instead they suffered severe losses and had to leave within weeks to rebuild morale.

Unfortunatly BTH never had time to recover, because 4 months later FL arrived on Origin and finished what VaMp had already started. The rumors of BTH's demise eventually found their way to me, and I can't help but feel guilty for what happened to them.

It keeps going threw my mind that if I never left they wouldn't have got humiliated on LA.
If I never took their best players with me when I left they would have had skill to fall back on.
I can't travel back in time to fix what has happened, so I have to live with the shame of knowing that me and my 5 friends of mine ultimately destroyed the machine.


Hopefully to ease my pain I will travel to Origin and meet the Fallen Lords head on, and maybe one day in the future all the wrong I did will become right once again. Maybe those of us who left BTH that have now returned will inspire them to fight once again.

There are two pvp guilds and one pvp/pvm guild, that have fight in Fel.
VaMp pretty much runs the shard's Fel side. They "magically" know when someone is doing a spawn. And pretty much has their crap together. They tend to recruit seasoned pvpers though. Second largest guild on the shard They are mostly archers, mages, necro mages.
A*M has an alliance that is basically filled with their alt chars or the off sharders that they've asked for help. They recruit anyone. Filled with drama (not much a personally opinion, more of a personally observation). Allied guilds: MeRc, PVM., and G&L. Mostly archers, stealth archers, dexxers, and some mages.
KOL is the largest guild on LA. They are starting to make their appearence in Fel. We mostly don't play as much at the gate. We prefer spawning which means many tiffs with Vamp. Although, we rather fight A*M because they are easier :P (that, my friends, was smacktalk). Mostly dexxers, Mages, and tamers. (No archers?! :O )

**** man, Watching the chars Jeff Bushie/Heather/Crystilastmous/Pelome/Lex/Champion Mage/Smur/Smithy II and a few more on LA YEARS back really sold me on pvp.

I used to go on a fencer with a spear, they would kill me,rez me, heal me up again, and then kill me again. hehe was fun times! Then i think it was Crystilastmous gave me and trala a shot in MxV. The game seemed a lot more fun back then.

such a convenient side step of a flagrant challenge - apparently you're all talk and no show. Gender prejudice is against the RoC as much as all the swearing you do and you wonder why your threads keep getting locked. If you want a pvp thread that is going to stick you're going to need to learn to argue like a big boy instead of digging in the bottom of the barrel for the third grade insults.

And since you are such a "god" of felluca ... you may want to learn how to spell (and I'm assuming) pronounce it. It occured to me last night that LA has probably the highest concentration of veteran players than any other shard, it's amazing how many of LA's prominent members of society either Beta tested UO or came in shortly there after. And since we all know LA isn't a very old shard that means we've all moved here, independently, from other shards such as Pacific, Lake Superior and Great Lakes (I actually come from all three of those shards). The thing to wonder is why? What is the driving force that has brought so many long-time players of Ultima to one shard? *Points up at the ramblings of a self-proclaimed lush* Meh ... just a thought.

I think I've also figured out why so many pvp'ers have nothing better to do than flame and troll. Look back, UO has grown and changed so much in every way. Crafting has changed, hunting has changed, new monsters, new lands, new loot, new incentives, new systems and methods. Everything about UO has changed in the past 10 years, multiple times ...except pvp. It was "find someone and kill them" then and it's still "find someone and kill them" now...the only major change pvp has seen is the introduction of power scrolls and save your fingers from a flame away about how skill changes effect pvp so that one week archers pwn and the next week it's bushido stealthers because that's not what I'm talking about and if you can't figure it out for yourself, go kill something to make yourself feel better.

That said, maybe we should feel sorry for these guys. The desperately defend pvp and yet are admittedly bored with it. I've done my fair share of pvp and then some, I was born in fel before the days of tram when pvp was not optional and I turned red from killing hunting parties in Despise. I've been in pvp guilds and zerg guilds (yes I associate them differently) I've done champ spawns and raided harrowers. I've done house fights and boat fights and tournaments and even (with shame) spent some time at yew gate. I was in factions for three years on Great Lakes when they were really active and came to this shard and taught DSR (may they rest in peace) how the faction system worked. I've been an RP player and a hack n slash, been in the ventrilo's of some of the biggest pvp guilds in the game.

I don't pvp anymore because, quite frankly, it's boring. With item insurance and CBD's and PBD's there's just no point anymore ... hell we can't even cut your head off and sell it to the king when we're done pwning you. Pvp has become a true joke in this game because everything that used to make it fun has been taken away ... I've seen and done it all and I've come to the conclusion that performing the same action expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

On that note, if you decide to actually accept the challenge (and grow a pair) great, but if you truly plan to just hide behind a bottle of (lemme guess ...) jager? and type out heaps of uneducated, drunken mumbo jumbo ... we've all got better things to do with our time. Last offer.

Basically, with the exception of Remix, all you guys do is run to your homes, everytime we do log in, even at spawns we arrive, you guys don't defend, just call a scramble to your little houses. With the exception of harrys that we rarely know about, but of course 3-4 of us cant handle 15-20 of you guys, very easily at the harrys we do find out about. We are still around, but we like to pvp, not gate sit while you guys get comfy house hiding or finish your guy's spawns you won't fight over. We are all over, a few free shards, Great Lakes, Origin, a jap shard, Atlantic, Pacific, Baja, Catskills, Lake Superior, where people will actually pvp and not run home. It's safe to say that you guys bored us away :). As far as getting vamp disbanded, they arent disbanded, you guys are allied to them. People say DFA isn't VaMp, but i'd like to know the difference? they still talk trash and can't pvp, it's just a bunch of trash players who want to ally G&L to farm this shard and not pvp anyone. Kind of sounds like vamp doesn't it? Whether or not people agree it's vamp or not, they aren't they're DFA, but they still have the same goals as VaMp and is everyone that was in VaMp. lawl. See my point? Only difference is there gm never played unless they had 10-15 on and didn't want to ally anyone and was a decent pvper. I'm not really sure what the point of your alliance is. You want to be able to farm so you can get money, but for what? I'm not sure what the point of getting money/items are if you can't use them. So DFA and G&L did a harrower with atleast 14 people. LOLz showed up with 3 and for over half the fight we only had two people and dominated.

We ended up getting 12 scrolls thousands of points and lots of laughs.

This could not have been placed at a better time. After I just got done explaining that they are psuedo pvpers. We came, we saw, we conquered. To the leaders of the alliance breeze and graham I love how you only show up to fights if you think it's a sure thing and you have lots on, thanks again for the harrower we got a few 25's and a few 20's lol. Stick to doing spawns/harrowers when you know we aren't on.

I am not in LoLz...and I came here (LA) to help with the *imbalance* you seem to have left on the shard. Trash talking players really is not my thing, however in this case I do make an exception.

In regards to t4h...this guild has a rich long history...both of felucca and tram. Beyond providing competition, I have yet to find any reason for you or other allies to hate them so much.

You should be more specific.
First of all, the one guild is complied of a lot of people that are new to pvp and still wet behind the ears. The LOLz run with 2 people on average. To say you're ALL allied up to fight two guilds you make it sound like it's two large guilds and that's why you need 5 guilds to compete. I would much rather fight with two people and fight everyone, than fight two with everyone. Whats the point of all your items and farming, you don't have the balls to fight anyone.

Look what happened when your guild fought 3 LOLz in deceit at their harrower they lost with over 14 people. Actually it was 2 for over 60% of the fight, but there was a thrid person at two different times for a little bit.

T4H don't really "team up" with us. We guard them because you guys ONLY want to fight people who are new at pvp so you feel good about your selves, they come get us and we show up and then you get destroyed and decide you don't want to play uo till we log off. They are a different faction so it's hard to calling it teaming up. Also we don't play in vent with them.

Your alliance is pathetic you just try to go from shard to shard looking for a dead shard to you can get gold, buy leet items, then never use them as you have no one to fight. Theres not one person in that entire alliance that will attempt to fight any of us. This is a fact. This is the reason you guys got destroyed 2v14+ and we looted half your stat scrolls at your own harrower.

Severus feel free to adress this, tell me I'm wrong in any of these aspects. You guys are nothing but house hiding trash.

No we've tested it, people could teleport further even though we had the same settings, however the other person had a bigger monitor. So again you are still an idiot.

One last time...in plain english. The viewing area in the client is limited to 800X600. This means that no matter how big your monitor IS you are still limited to the same pixel set...no more no less...I suggest asking around before arguing any further.

In order to circumvent this some individuals will manually change the settings gaining extra tile view. There is no need to argue this fact, modding the client is nothing new.

I don't know/care about the rest of this, but he is right in regards to screen size. The largest playable window size in 2D is 800x600. A larger monitor has no bearing.

The only way to increase the playable window size is to use a script to change the actual game screen resolution values after starting the client but prior to logging in.

How many mage suits do you have? I have 14 pvp ready suits, 7 spawner suits.

the use of razor? you know who your mates are using it on atl...the use of purple pots by several of your members including jacob shock, love potion (x2), and a few others is ample proof. We are primarily west coast players, you see. It is worthwhile to mention we've found a trend in most east coasters that they want to hop on airplanes to come and fight us in real life (I will pick them up at the airport!).

If you want to test the waters against us championship-calibre players you can put a character in the DFA ( a guild that has now lasted a lot longer than T4HF ) and start calling targets for them too. They will provide you with any character transfers, dread mares and/or gametime necessary for the small guarantee that you'll join them. I am sure if you need the Stygian Abyss upgrade on Tuesday that can be arranged through their leader also, as they will require all of the help they can get.

Summons can mean many things dummy. Including wisps...did I mention specifics? The rules were no forms, no summons, with a specified number of pots and apples. (perhaps you forgot asking to fight me with same rules as those between chad and myself?)

This is what I have been dealing with most of the time I have played in the last year and a half. Notice the ping, and notice the server is only 200 miles away. As I said, I have nothing to prove to you. I really wish I did ping as well as most do in this game. This is what I have been dealing with most of the time I have played in the last year and a half. Notice the ping, and notice the server is only 200 miles away. As I said, I have nothing to prove to you. I really wish I did ping as well as most do in this game. I hate to break it to you, Cowboy, but the Lake Austin server has ALWAYS been in the SF, California area, and Iowa is no where near Cali. Still, a 200 mile ping that high sucks - it's what I pinged for my first 3 years on LA, using dialup...

The "Central" server farm (great Lakes, Lake Superior, etc.) got merged into the East Coast (Virginia-based) server farm around 8 YEARS AGO, from wherever they were before then (Chicago?)

And, when Lake Austin was created, from the outset, it was hosted in California. People heard the Devs referring to the fact that the shard was being named for the lake they could see out the windows of their Austin offices (found those old dev posts going through all of uo.com's old publish and testing notes), and wrongly assumed LA was being hosted at EA/Origin's Austin offices.

In fact, that I play on LA was the result of the people who introduced me to the game making that wrong assumption, and thought LA would be a better ping speed than their old shard (LS, I believe), which had been moved as part of the "central" shards moving to Virginia.

BY the time I figured out otherwise, I was too firmly a part of LA community to abandon all my friends to switch to an East Coast shard, and frankly, what little time I've spent on those shards made me glad I stayed on LA, because I hate the crowding of the big shards.

Would I have been better off to re-argue about something you denied in game 10 min earlier? And btw...while you are bring up SS and whatnot...where is the screenie without you running CE? Afterall, that was one of the rules.

I have always played east as my ping has always been better there (even after the server move), however coming to LA offered a challenge. (an extra 40+ ping time to west) I did quite well considering my disadvantages.

The only reason I brought out the SS was to shut these guys up. Evidently their shrinks told them to never give up, never surrender...but unfortunately forgot to tell them of the exceptions to the rule. :)

All I came here to do was offer my two cents...and the same still stands...

Inadequacies? Hardly. The GF was waiting for me to pick her up, I don't try and hide my "video gamez" from women. Although I'm sure prison is a lovely topic for you and your internet dates to talk about. :thumbup: You achieve so high!

OH BOY! YOU WIN UO! Now where is the SS of the other fight which I was speaking of? Second, I played swords long before I had EP...or the double hit spell wep. Again, what good does a double hit spell wep do me if I cannot catch up to hit you with it? Or what good does it do vs. 45+ DCI when I have no HCI? Seems you just like to inflate your ego over a weighted fight to begin with.

Its ok though, you said you wanted to fight on wrong roof so I would stay on screen...but there were several times during our fight you ran OUTSIDE of range. On the flip side I always stayed within casting distance.

Third, lets see the uncropped version of your SS...the agreement is you would not use any speed enhancements...lemme see your taskbar if you are going to talk trash.

Last, on all shards I have always had around 100+ ping. East/West...it dont matter...yet I still pwned you on the west and you couldnt even admit that it happened. (LMAO...in a video game you cannot even admit defeat...thats sad) That was with no ep mind you...on a shard you ping well to.

Without all kill...or EO...or cheats (show the uncropped screenie to prove me wrong)...you are ****. End of story.

So what if you beat me? I think I do just fine regardless of wins or losses.

Gee...remember this post dippy? I posted my ping...yet you only mention yours in relation to the win. If I am pinging 140+ to the same shard you ping 100 to...who do you think should win on a mage? If I am pinging 140 to the same shard you ping 30 to...who do you think should win on a mage?

The answer to both of those questions should be easy...the person with less latency has the best odds of winning if the skill is equal on both. It is very easy to see why you wouldnt want to admit to dying to a mage pinging 140 on your homeshard...kinda goes against your e-rep right?

I was never in HOT, I don't know where that idea came from. The only guilds I have ever been in that were not my own were BTH for a short amount of time, SX, and VIP! (which I was the GM of for an extended amount of time)
