Bounties?

I was just purusing stratics when I found this link (http://uo.stratics.com/content/reputation/bounties.shtml) . I started playing UO in 2005 and I missed this. It seems like it would have been really cool. Does anyone know why they did away with it?

I, personally, think it would be cool to at least bring it back in the Felucca facet. Does anyone agree?

They removed the ability to cut off people's heads to allow UO to receive a Teen rating.
They removed the bounty system as a whole because it was grossly abused. PvPers would build up a really large bounty, then kill themselves (using an alternate account) or have a friend kill them to claim the bounty.

Well that is poopie...It seems so cool.

Just curious, does anyone else wish there were still some kind of bounty system?
