I reinstalled UO and my CNTL + D macro for Discordance isn't working. It types the letter "d" in the text entry area in the 2D client!
I double-checked and my macro is still there (copied over from previous install). So I deleted it and re-added as CNTL + ALT + D and this doesn't work - NOTHING types and the macro doesn't execute.
I re-added the CNTL + D macro and it still types the letter "d" in the text entry area.
Any ideas??? Same computer .. this is really odd...

Not to overstate the obvious, but you ARE hitting apply, before okay?
Just to be certain
Otherwise, no problems here, made one and works fine *shrugs*

Do you have other macros on a Ctrl + "something" combo that work?
I wonder if it is your Ctrl key that is not working.
Just a thought...

Often macros not working are the result of two things asigned the same key in UO or one in UO and one in UOA (without pass on to UO being checked)

You mentioned that you reinstalled UO and that your Control-D macro is still there, presumably because you copied it over from a previous installation.
How did you do the copy? Have you looked at the text file that contains all the macros for that character to see if all of the macros you previously had are still there?
Also, is it possible that there is another macro already assigned to that key combination? That is usually the problem I encounter when I make a macro and it doesn't seem to work at all.

It sounds like your [ctrl] key is not working. It shouldn't be typing while holding the [ctrl] key.

Nothing else is assigned to CTRL + D
CTRL by itself does not "do anything", so to speak
UOA is not yet installed
I have no other CTRL + D macros...

if you have another thing set to ctrl-D the last macro you set will be void. Apparently one of your characters already has a macro set for Ctrl-D. Asign another letter to it and see if that works.

First off if I get this right your thinking it should say cnt+D in the window but it doesn't cause you have to put a check in the diamond on 2d next to the Control..... and D should be the only thing in that window.... next you really do have to check through all the pages and make sure cntr+D isn't used on another macro or nothing at all will occur.....

No, I'm simply trying to execute my macro. I'm not expecting ANYTHING to "appear" in the text window or anywhere. I don't think it should say CTRL+D or anything.

Check and make sure the new targeting system is on.
Also what are you trying to do with the macro?

Literally 5 minutes ago, I just discovered my control key isn't responding in general, so it's my crappy keyboard. ahhhhhhhhh!
