Does anyone know when EA plans to refund the RL money spent on ATM transactions? Will it be EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION since ATM's where started? EA isn't very forthcoming with information.

according to the blog, ALL transactions will be refunded. Not sure when, but they will be. Check your palpal for all transactions in past year, so you know how much is due to you. If everyone starts receiving refunds, and you don't, or yours falls short of what's due, you have a record of it.

MY BET IS YOU WILL NEVER SEE A REFUND..... you will never see amnesty, never see a fourth year gift, never see a stratics forum where the devs answere your questions, everyones being scammed by electronic arts in general....

I don't think it's going to be automatic. EA is not known for voluntarily surrendering money if they don't have to. If you want your refund, you're going to have to call. If you don't, it wouldn't be beneath EA to figure you don't care and keep your money.

Refunds for people that spent rl money buying simoleans via the ingame ATM.

As per this blog post:

PayPal Refunds
Posted in PayPal by Parizad on the May 5th, 2008
With the closing of EA-Land, one of the main questions that keeps surfacing is recent transactions of the ATM for in game money. EA will refund all (not only recent) ATM transactions automatically. Be on the lookout for your refund. Please note that if you have already reversed the payment for any ATM transactions you will not be receiving an additional refund.

I have bought funds through the ATMs, but have gotten no refund for it yet. I mainly did it to see how it worked, etc etc.

866-543-5435 is the phone number I have used several times to get my bank account refunded. This number is for the US, don't know the one for out of the states.

Keep calling them, and be persistent. There is no fraud going on, just badly-uninformed CSRs. Direct them to ealand.ea.com if need be. And if one gets rude with you, don't get rude back. That helps no one. Instead, politely ask to speak with his or her supervisor, and don't take "no" for an answer.

As a nurse believe me I know how to handle rude people without being rude back (sometimes it takes every ounce of my strength to hold back LOL). I (like many) are just very anxious and upset over spending money on a game that is closing. This is actually the third time I've called...first person told me they would "forward" my request to their "special unit" and they'd call me back (or email me) in 24 hours. That was last week and still no response. The second call was on Friday and I was put on hold and told to wait and they never picked back up (waited nearly 30 minutes)...and now this call. I will call again and be persistent. All I want is a simple answer even if it's "we haven't set a date for the refunds". I sadly enough spent more money on ATM's than I wish to admit to LOL.

Well I called them yesterday and the lady told me they would e-mail me with in 24 hours, and would you beleive it they did. Here is what they said about the refunds in the E-mail

Greetings,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

Sorry for the delay. Regarding EA Land and Simoleans; The returns are not being done by Customer Support. The Paypal transactions will be returned by the development team when they are ready. That might not be done until the game has come to a close. Please be patient and look for other announcements at the EA Land page. If you have any further questions or concerns please reply to this email or visit our extensive knowledge base online at http://support.ea.com.
Thank you,

LOL I just finally got the same response....but the key of course is the "when the game comes to a close" comment...which means our refunds might not be issued until August.

I also got the same response!! But what baffles me is that when these tidbits of information are released to us stating, "EA will refund all (not only recent) ATM transactions automatically. Be on the lookout for your refund.", it makes it appear that this is to be done anyday now. And only when you push Customer Service for solid dates do you get an email with a "pending" much later date. I also am wondering whether or not holding out for EA to refund is the best option since they state "Please note that if you have already reversed the payment for any ATM transactions you will not be receiving an additional refund." Does this mean that PAYPAL is doing refunds?

Hopefully someone from the dev team will update us soon on when to expect refunds. I think if they did that it would ease everyone's minds.

We are in the process of refunding simoleans bought through ATMs. If you have not received yours yet, you should receive it in the next few days.

I received 100 dollars back today (still owned 345...don't ask I feel ashamed to have spent that much money) but they were also on different accounts so hopefully the rest will trickle in.

I got all of mine. Turns out I had 5 coming and not 4. Now I just have to wait for them to appear on the credit cards. I'm hoping they won't be stuck in my PayPal account.

Mine were in my Paypal account, but I was able to transfer to my bank account with no fee.
