Can't get past "Preparing Cartography"

In both EA-Land and TC3, I can't get past "Preparing Cartography." It gets to 100% and stops responding. I called EA, the automated system directed me to the website. At the website, I tried to submit a bug report...I kept getting an Http 500 Internal Server error.

Are they really trying to keep people from playing at all? And the customer service is basically nonexistent.

I've heard a few players reporting this problem, I really dont know what to suggest besides trying to delete your castanet files to force a verify. Program files/EA/EA Land, in patch and client floders theres a folder called castanet, delete the whole thing in both patch and client and try again.

Well, shoot! I'm out of ideas then. :(

HTTP 500 indicates a problem at the server end. Sounds like EA may need to hire someone to go kick the game's authentication server.

How did you fix this? Mine starting freezing at "Preparing Cartography" and at 100% on friday. I've tried to run a fix game off and on all week-end and still nothing. I'm not puter savvy at all, and don't understand clearing out folders that's been talked about. Helppp

I did not get it fixed until Black Shadow posted a link to a fix in the Blog (http://www.ea-land.ea.com/blog/?p=1226)

Rizzo reinstalled using the disk and it worked, in case that helps anyone.

Yes, Niki thanks for posting for me..I couldn't get here fast enough!

The Solution is to re-install using the Disk or if you still have the executable on your PC. Run the updater and it should fix all problems. Took about a half hour for the updater to complete the 513MB update. :D
