I'm a suscriber and only planning on playing in TC3 from now on. If I cancel my suscription, will my lot shrink? I know there could be consequences in EA-Land, but what about TC3, will anything happen to my lot?

Ozy, you pose a very good question and unfortunately I dont have an answer for you. I would suggest that due to all the changes that are happening, that you ask this question at the Town Hall and direct your question to the Developers - I think you will get the answer you need. http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/shared/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I doubt there will be any changes to anything in TC3. As it's a free city, and everyone there to can do anything a paying player can do in EA land. No restrictions.

Except for the number of avatars. As a free account, you'll only be able to keep your primary avatar... and your weekly stipend drops to §100 instead of §500... but nothing REALLY important.

Correct, the only limitation will be that you will be restricted to playing the avatar that you designated as primary, or by default the primary one is the oldest on the account if you did not specify one before you let the account downgrade to free.

Your characters, items, and lot will be DELETED. My account was originally a trial account, which I then upgraded to subscriber status. After experiencing some technical issues and disappointment with the game, I cancelled my subscription and reverted to trial status. I then received this email on March 1st:

<blockquote><hr>

Your fourteen day free trial subscription to The Sims Online is about to expire, but you don't have to miss one minute of fun!

Click here to upgrade your account to the complete game version :

And this email on March 20:

<blockquote><hr>

Hello (account name)!

(account name)'s subscription to The Sims Online??? will expire in 7 day(s). To continue your game play uninterrupted, just login to your account at http://www.ea.com/SubscribeEntry.jsp?prodid=TSO&amp;ipath=9 and activate your billing. In seconds you'll be back in the game.

I lost EVERYTHING. Sim name, all her items, friends list, skills, all of it. I have read something about inactive accounts being deleted after 90 days, so I DID be certain to login and check on my lot occasionally to keep the account "active".

Well, I logged in today, and everything is GONE.

If you are thinking about creating a fresh trial account to transfer your subscriber's things to it, I lost TWO of those as well with the same emails sent. Those two free trial accounts were never subscriber status.

I suppose you could try downgrading, and just re-subscribe if you receive any of the above emails. Personally, I will not be returning to a service which deletes their users's things and time spent inworld. I have played several online games, and this is the first I have encountered which practices such horrible behavior.

Good luck!
