I packed up my xbox360 and sent it away in the mail. I then decided since I didnt have my xbox, I may as well not have a TV. Hell, it might even get me out of the barracks to have a good time. So I gave it to a friend to hold for me and guess what? Now I've seen the error in my ways. Unfortunately getting the TV back now would mean only having it another few days before I'd have to give it right back away again.
Now all I've got is my radio, my computer, civilization IV, The movies, The sims collection, , TSO/EA Land, and some pirate game that I saw advertised on TV just before I gave it up.
Am I a TV addict going through withdraws after only two hours knowing I won't see another TV for a few weeks, or do you think it was my main excuse to not go out and have a good time?
PS I'm pretty much a barracks rat lol

Personally, I'd never be able to give up our TV, but only because of playing DVD and VHS movies on it. We haven't really been in to watching 'television' for a few years, except for 2 or 3 programs that come on ABC that we like. All the shows we did like got cancelled so at that point it was like why the heck are we paying $50-$75 a month to watch reruns on the rest of the crap LOL. If I'm gonna watch the same movies over and over again I wanna pay for them once and they are mine, especially now that alot of the good movies have ended up in the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart and some of the 'classics' like Oliver Twist and David Copperfield are even listed at a buck.
So yeah, you're brave for giving up the TV entirely, though I suppose if you go into movie withdrawls you could always watch DVDs through the DVD-R drive on your comp, couldn't you?
ok... I am guessing you got the 3 red rings and that is why you sent your xbox 360 out? It only takes a few weeks to get there, fixed and back, why would you get rid of your TV? Did you sell your TV or borrow it to someone who doesn't want to give it back? I'm a little confused...
You can actually watch a lot of TV online... many networks have episodes online you can watch right on their website. If you use winamp go to TV and it lets you scroll thru a few channels. I have seen various shows, Family Guy and the Simpsons being the most popular it seems. I've even watched The Simpsons dubbed in french on one of the francophone channels.
