The Final Verdict on UOLedger.com
For those who followed the site, UOLedger.com is down for good and won't be back. In the process of bringing the site back to a recoverable point my Ultima Online account was taken over by an individual from New Jersey (going unnamed in public) who I have personally dealt with in the past and who was able to take ownership of the account using malicious means.
Electronic Arts is refusing to allow me access into my account again as there has been a "do not modify account" hold placed on it due to past attempts to break into it.
If anyone sees Asimo, Peanuts or Domokun on Great Lakes, Catskills or other servers, beware; the individual behind the characters is the one who breached my official account used for UOLedger.com reporting and overall UO gameplay. Similarly, the [NEWS] guild on Great Lakes has been taken over with the account.
Thanks for helping make UOLedger what it was and to many years of UO play to come (for those who still play)-- cheers!
Asimo / Peanuts / Domokun / Wallenstein / Sid / Masamune / River

sounds like he got hacked, and the scumbag just used his cc (or gametime code) and changed email so there is no way to get it back if EA wont help...

Sorry to hear that Wallenstein. I remember when you first went public with the site and I sent you a few quest follow ups during some event. It was a great idea but unfortunately, web servers are quite hard to secure and very tedious to manage. Whoever hacked it (and your account) really sucks nuts.

Assuming OP wasn't using gametime codes, didn't EA at one point claim that CC history for an account shows ownership beyond just providing CD/account creation key?

Pure lack of Customer Service by the EA Rep. That is the problem with some of the CSR's, they don't care to take the time & help people. I think many CSR's take the attitude that they are still getting paid for the Acct so what do they care!! Sorry to hear of the loss .

This totally sucks. It is so unfortunate that the people you have been paying your cold hard cash to for this long aren't even willing to help you. I recommend trying to call someone else, because while one person may not be able or doesn't want to help you, another will. Unless you've already called 10 times with the same response. Absolute crap, man... EA really needs to redo their costumer service.

i would keep calling and trying to get the account back. It took me almost 20 calls to get my account back when it was hacked.
I gave them the code that was used to make the account and was told it was wrong. gave them the last upgrade code used on account and told is was wrong and gave them my cc info and told it was also wrong.
I was getting really upset and was about to give up when i called again and gave all the above info and was able to get my account back and set up things to help to keep it from being hacked in the future like secret questions and such.
Dont give up. Alot of the reps dont really look into it and dont care but if you keep trying you will get that 1 person who cares enough to try and do something and most the time you end up with your account back.
Also dont let them tell you that they will have a account rep call you because they are forwarding the matter on to them. THEY NEVER CALL!! you have to keep calling if you want anything done.
Sorry this happened to you and it really sucks. I have friends that stopped playing because they lost their accounts and ea ran them around.
Oh and 1 more thing, Dont threaten Lawsuits. They will hang up on you and wont talk to you. If your going to go with threatening a lawsuit have your lawyer call but dont mention you are going to have him contact them.

Sorry to hear about your UO account and the UOL site. UOL was a good site and had a good run. Much success to you in the future.

Yeah, it almost seems like with EA customer you just keep trying until you find one of the competent and passionate CSRs who will do all in their power to help you. Mind you, I myself have had to deal with canned reponses from GMs which drive me crazy, but when you do get the good ones, they do a really good job. From here on out, I plan to document all my interaction with EA customer service and fill out feedback forms on each member. That way, if the issue is training, the ones who weren't helpful will get trained. If the issue is laziness, perhaps their job will go to someone more deserving. The ones that deserve praise, will receive it which I hope will reinforce their desire to keep doing a great job.

I'm really sorry to hear this! Keep trying with customer service, if you have the original CC number and original account code you used I think you should be able to get the account back - it's why they try to get people to officially go through their account transfer process so that ownership can always be established.
I hope this doesn't kill playing UO for you, I know what it is to work hard on something then have it get all screwed up. :/

Thanks all for the kind offerings and words about both my account and UOLedger.com.
The main underlying issue in this whole incident is that I was not the original creator of the account. I began playing UO in 2003 and gave my account to a friend in 2007 when I originally stopped playing. However, after wanting to get back into the Britannian atmosphere I bought an account from an individual who offered a Catskills-based account for sale here on Stratics.
The original post offering the account is here: http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=8127. I know the person's 'real life' identity and I have all of the documentation to prove I purchased the account, however EA will only-- and I mean only-- help the original creator of the account, who in this case is the one who sold it to me in 2008. He has the original credit card information, I don't. So, needless to say, I'm screwed.
Again, I appreciate the support and will probably be looking into pushing the UOLedger.com domain name to someone who is interested in perhaps starting up a UO news website and would like the 'known' name. We'll see.
For now, cheers. UO was fun.
