Basically, yes. But again, it's not up to me to invite users to the beta. Stratics is working on making sure everyone who should be included, will be included.

If I had my way, I'd let everyone in for a small fee of really good chocolates... but, alas, 'tis not the way of things.

In typical Stratics fashion, I assume those that get into the beta of the new client will only be those favored by staff.

I've worked for Stratics, and can honestly say that this has never been the truth, only the perceived truth (I was the Exclusives Director for quite some time) - the senior staff are still working on the new stuff before releasing it to the other staff for the closed beta session.

Seriously, by all means work the crowd for beta-cravers. While this first round of closed beta is going to be a select group of individuals (just like with any MMO beta), we are definitely interested in getting as many people as we can into the client just as soon as we can.

Its not dead, but it is much more useful to those who have friends willing to use it.

At this stage in its development it is sometimes hard to track down who is where and doing what, but it is always getting better.

Most assuredly not dead!

This past weekend, there was a live broadcast of panels for titles such as Warhammer Online, Fusion Fall, DC Universe Online, Champions Online, and with the team at 38 Studios. The panels were hosted by another media site, but we streamed it live in Voon, and recorded it (for replaying later).

Also, a media site hosted a live dev chat in Voon a couple of weeks ago for Warhammer Online.

It is early in development, and like anything new to an industry it takes a little bit for things to get rolling. But if I'm not mistaken our good friends here at Stratics are working hard to bring you many similar events that are of interest to the wonderful community here, so I'd say keep on eye on their front page news for details as they unfold!
